Job Description
As a Technical Author / ILS Engineer, you will oversee integrated logistics support projects for naval ships. Your tasks will include maintenance analysis, documentation development (in S1000D format), supply support planning, and training preparation. Working within multi-disciplinary teams, you ensure deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and meet agreed standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct ILS analyses such as logistics support analysis (LSA) and reliability/maintainability studies;
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project stakeholders;
- Develop ILS deliverables—including maintenance packages, RAM/LCC calculations, tool & supply support documentation, and training materials;
- Verify compliance with contractual and end-user requirements;
- Assist in preparing ILS proposals and enhancing ILS processes and methodology;
- Create training content for naval equipment;
- Draft budget estimates and cost analyses for projects;
- Review technical regulations and drawings to support project execution.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in marine engineering or a related technical field;
- Demonstrated experience in ILS package development or maintenance support in a defence or naval context;
- Proven ability to work within multi-functional and international team environments;
- Strong written and verbal English—Dutch proficiency is a plus, additional languages (e.g. German, Spanish) advantageous;
- Background in naval or military projects is preferred;
- Permanent EU nationality and passport required; security screening part of hiring procedure.
