Maritime Electrical Engineer

Job Description
As an Electrical Engineer, you are responsible for the design, implementation, and validation of electrical installations on naval vessels. You develop power distribution systems, cable routing, and component integration in compliance with strict technical and safety standards. You will work in a model-based systems engineering (MBSE) environment following the V-model methodology. The systems must remain operational even under the most extreme conditions, requiring precision and expertise.

Your responsibilities as Electrical Engineer:

  • Develop functional descriptions, electrical schematics, and supporting technical documentation;
  • Create and maintain specifications for electrical components and installation procedures;
  • Design test and validation plans including simulations, FAT, HAT, and SAT phases;
  • Coordinate with suppliers and integrate third-party designs into the vessel’s systems;
  • Define standards and procedures for engineering and commissioning activities;
  • Support proposal phases by preparing conceptual electrical designs;
  • Provide technical assistance during commissioning and project execution.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the design of complex electrical systems, preferably in maritime, offshore, or aerospace industries;
  • Background in multidisciplinary engineering environments with multiple suppliers involved;
  • Knowledge of MBSE principles and experience with V-model processes;
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field;
  • Familiarity with EMC-compliant design; TEMPEST knowledge is an advantage;
  • Excellent command of the English language; Dutch or German is a plus;
  • Permanent EU citizenship is required due to the confidential nature of the projects; pre-employment and security screenings apply.

Employment Conditions
